THE AUTHOR - JAMES SIROIS

James Sirois received a degree in Industrial Design at the University of Washington. After a year of graduate study at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and six years at the Whirlpool Corporation’s Research Labs in Benton Harbor, Michigan, that latterly included the development of aerospace hardware. The next twenty-five years was as the head of his own product development company in Portland, Oregon. Readers have enjoyed his books about his life, growing up in the small coastal town of Ocean Falls, BC and about the history of the people he grew up with.

Grizzly Chronicles is Jim’s fifth book and is a collection of delightful and entertaining stories of his neighbours ­ the grizzly bears of the Dean and Kimsquit Rivers, BC. In addition it chronicles the Grizzly Bear Research Project 1982 - 1986 on the Kimsquit River.

Jim spends most of the year at his cedar log cabin on the Dean River where he continues to write and to photograph grizzlies.
